Incontinence


Urinary and fecal discharge is controlled by kaegle muscles and sphincter muscles that create valves in the body to control the flow of fluids and materials. Among several applications, sphincter muscles control the discharge of food from the stomach to the small intestine, also the discharge of feces. Kegel muscles control the flow of urine from the bladder.

Up to 35% of women over the age of 60 experience urinary incontinence. Younger women whom have had several pregnancies can also experience frequent incontinence.

Healthy and strong sphincter and kegel muscles provide the pressure needed to control continence. As pressure is increased from coughing, sneezing, jumping, etc and is transmitted to kegel and sphincter muscles, the pressure differential is changed, resulting in incontinence.

Whole Body Vibration is shown to be an effective way to strengthen the sphincter and kegel muscles that prevent leakage. Muscles are strengthen involuntarily as the vibration elicits an automatic response.
