Learn the Science:
Back Pain and whole body vibration
Chronic Lower Back Pain is generally not a result of bone maladies, but rather is caused by issues such as overuse, strains, injury, and/or sitting or standing for extended periods. Pain is triggered by tightening connective tissue and weak muscles.
Whole Body Vibration and Back Pain
Routine whole body vibration therapy can provide effective and often immediate relief of back pain. Back pain can make daily tasks and exercising difficult and painful. One of the most recommended treatments of back pain is to stretch and strengthen the muscles in the back and core. Whole body vibration therapy stretches and strengthens connective tissues without straining them.
Whole body vibration delivers mechanical loading to the skeletal muscles, thereby strengthening the muscles and improving circulation and flexibility. Strengthening core muscles helps develop better posture and spinal health to prevent and eliminate back pain. Back pain due to extended sitting decreased in workers of a 2017 study after whole body vibration treatment (Kaeding et al., 2017). Keading et al. concluded that whole body vibration can be a safe, effective and suitable treatment for those who were experiencing back pain. Whole body vibration has also been proven as an effective method to aid those with chronic lower back pain (Rittweger et al., 2002).
LifetimeVibe’s patented design is especially helpful for people with back pain because it isolates the vibration in the base, not the handles–reducing harsh and violent movement. Unlike competitor machines, LifetimeVibe also accelerates gradually to the chosen speed, making the experience much more comfortable for those with back pain.
Stand on LifetimeVibe machine with feet hip-width apart, and use the program booklet to identify a stretch that will be beneficial to you. (See pages 27-33 in the LifetimeVibe Program booklet)
Speeds and Programs
Set speed above 25. Pre-set programs 3, 6, and 7 all maintain a speed above 25.
